ReClaim Madison Salvage and Thrift Store
In response to Hurricane Helene, the Community Housing Coalition of Madison County (CHC) has worked tirelessly to address the urgent needs of our neighbors. Our incredible ReClaim Madison Salvage and Thrift Store team stepped up to support these efforts, joining us in the community to provide immediate aid.
To better serve our community during this challenging time, we transitioned ReClaim Madison from a retail store into a vital community engagement hub. Since then ReClaim has given a temporary home to wART FM in the front, ROAR’s mutual-aid projects in the back, and provided a venue for community restoration meetings.
As the demand for urgent home repairs grows, CHC must now repurpose this space to accommodate longer term recovery efforts.
We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who has donated, shopped, or worked at ReClaim Madison. Your support has been invaluable. While the store’s doors are closing, the spirit and impact of thrift stores in building stronger communities will always hold a special place in our hearts. We encourage you to continue supporting other thrift stores.
Let’s come together to honor the legacy of ReClaim Madison and the community it has served. Please join us this Friday at 6pm for a ReClaim Madison Thrifty Concert featuring a live concert by the Mountain, Mountain, Mountain Boys. Vaste Rivière Provisions of Hot Springs, NC, will host a pop-up with non-alcoholic beverages and food (cash/charge accepted).
